Tom Cruise is making a lot of moves these days to ensure that his brand remains in the minds of the general public. After signing a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery last month to create a deal that Deadline Hollywood is calling a non-exclusive “new strategic partnership”, the global superstar isn’t resting on his laurels to enact his next play.

According to another report by Deadline Hollywood, Cruise has reportedly signed on to star in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s first English-language project since winning the Best Director award for his 2015 film The Revenant. The report adds that Iñárritu will produce and direct the undertaking, which he wrote with Sabina Berman as well as Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone, who helped him co-write his 2014 “one-take” opus Birdman.

No details are available about the film, except that this is Cruise’s first project with Warner Bros. Discovery since his 2014 cult classic Edge of Tomorrow. As for Iñárritu, this would be next in line for him after completing Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths for Netflix back in 2022. Also stated in the aforementioned reports is the fact that Cruise will not be tied down to any one studio with any of his deals, with him still working on the final Mission: Impossble film for Paramount Pictures, and an untitled sci-fi movie project with Doug Liman over at Universal.
