For nearly a decade, The Rest is Noise PH (TRIN) has been a gateway for up-and-coming local and international musicians to get on the radar of music giants worldwide (including Warner Music Asia, Sony Music Philippines, and SXSW, to name a few) through its Manila-based music curation, event production, and online publication arms. Such artists that have been featured on TRIN include Asian/Asian-descent indie favorites such as Up Dharma Down, Sandwich, and Japanese Breakfast.

Five years ago, TRIN helped establish the AXEAN Festival (formerly known as the Asean Music Showcase Festival) as a means for Southeast Asian artists on the up and up to get a chance at the spotlight via its many different drives such as networking conferences, industry eduction and discovery meetings, and songwriting workshops that hope to serve as a bridge to more opportunities for said creatives in the future.

Now, mark your calendars for April 4-5, 2025 as Makati City's Astbury will host 'All of the Noise: 10 Years of The Rest Is Noise,' a pivotal two-day event celebrating the dynamic music and cultural landscape of the Philippines and broader Asian region. This multifaceted festival, commemorating a decade of The Rest Is Noise's influential presence, is designed to be a crucial nexus for artists, industry professionals, and enthusiasts alike.

The event will feature a curated lineup of live music performances showcasing both established and emerging talent from the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Taiwan, providing a platform for cross-cultural exchange and regional exposure. Daytime programming will include 'Cut Through the Noise,' a series of panel discussions addressing key industry trends, social movements, and diverse perspectives, fostering critical dialogue.

‘Cut Through the Noise’ will feature talks by music industry experts and professionals from around the world, sharing their knowledge on topics such as 'Bisdak! VisMin Music Community and Decentralizing OPM Narratives & Opportunities’ and 'Music Showcase & Creative Industry Development Keynote Presentations: A Career-Building Guide' (presented by AXEAN Festival and TAICCA) on April 4; and on April 5th, 'Empowering Queer Visibility and Imagery in Pinoy Music' and 'Brash Maximalism: ‘Budots’ and the Global Future of Pinoy Electronic Music.'

Further enriching the festival's exploration of Philippine musical identity, attendees can anticipate screenings of compelling documentaries that delve into the country's unique sonic history. Featured titles include Mark Limbaga & Jay Rosas's 'Budots: The Craze,' offering an inside look at the viral phenomenon, and Chuck Escasa's 'Jingle Lang Ang Pahinga,' which examines another facet of the nation's musical narrative. These screenings are poised to provide invaluable context and shed light on the idiosyncratic and historically significant elements that define Philippine music.

'All of the Noise' aims to transcend a mere music showcase, embodying a commitment to community building, historical awareness, and collaborative advancement within the Asian music scene. This 10th-anniversary edition reinforces The Rest Is Noise's dedication to nurturing independent music ecosystems and facilitating meaningful connections across cultural boundaries.
