Final “The Marvels” Trailer Promises A Moment You Don’t Want to Miss

This weekend, Marvel Studios’ latest offering The Marvels flies into theaters hoping to earn back some of the goodwill that’s been lost by the cinematic universe juggernaut recently due to lackluster outings both on the film side of things, as well as their Disney+ offerings. However, the final trailer (uploaded days before the movie’s release) promises that this is one MCU entry you will definitely not want to miss.

Playing by their usual “appeal to MCU nostalgia” playbook, we see the OG Avengers featured in quick snippets. Iron Man, Captain America, and the Lady Avengers are all shown juxtaposed with one of Nick Fury’s (Samuel L. Jackson) earlier MCU monologues about heroes being an old-fashioned notion that he still believed in. Of course, we know that that speech was what spurred the creation of the Original 6 batch of the Avengers in their titular blockbuster film. We then are shown the newest antagonist of Phase 5: Dar-Benn, played by Zawe Ashton (Ashton is no longer a stranger to the MCU, as she is the fiancee of Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston). Dar-Benn is hell-bent on restoring her world, and she’s shown wielding an Accuser’s staff (last seen in the possession of Ronan the Accuser, the villain of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1). Part of her plan is to rip across the fabric of space and time to get to her goals, and this alerts Captain Marvel herself (Brie Larson). We see quick flashes of aerial battles afoot, as well as some comedic banter between Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Ms. Marvel herself, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani). That’s when the trailer suddenly flashes the words “BE THERE FOR THE MOMENT THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING”. Now that’s how you end a trailer! Alright then, speculation mode, ON!

There have been recent rumors of certain characters from a certain group of Marvel superheroes floating online (specifically via the always entertaining r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers, click at your own risk!), either via the end of the movie itself or through the trademark end credits scene at the very end. Of course, we won’t post any spoilers here! But it does make you wonder if this is the day that Kevin Feige finally plays either his long-awaited Fantastic Four or X-Men card.
